A little something to tide you over

What a handsome hound
I have been mega busy with the real estate business, really ever since I returned from France. I am not complaining although I am not sure GWE is so thrilled. He is back for a week from Germany, arriving in the throes of a gout spell, mainly due to dehydration on the flight combined with drinking a little too much red wine!! It is hard to be really sympathetic when it is self-inflicted but I am doing my best. Anyway he is hobbling around, happy as larry as you can imagine. I knew he was due home this week, of course I did, but I still went ahead and booked myself onto a course to continue my articling requirements. It wasn't until I was writing it in my daytimer that it finally dawned on me that the two collided. Anyway I am impressing the socks off him (if he could bear to have socks that close to his sore toe!) with my hectic real estate lifestyle.

My lady is disappearing

In this business, they always say once you book something, a holiday, a course, things with get busy - they weren't wrong. It's been crazy. GWE arrived Friday evening, and I was off the minute we returned from the airport doing a re-visit with my daughter's friends to their purchase. Saturday was out with the girls checking out bridesmaids, which I will tell you all about down the road.

Saturday evening was the engagement party at the future in-laws. Sunday out with clients, Monday course, Tuesday course and then showings with one set of clients and then receiving an offer on my listing, home at midnight!! Wednesday (today) course, calling buyers from last night's viewings to keep in touch, later I am off to receive another offer on my listing - last night's one died. Phew!! Fingers crossed for a better result this evening,

Anyway to keep you happy I have included some photos I snapped around my garden in a few free moments this weekend. I just love my lilac this year, it is two-tone, I am sure it wasn't last year. Anyway enjoy, and I will be back when I get another spare second.

Wow, I'm knackered just reading the list of activities. Better to be busy than bored and bless your hubby's gout ridden toe, try not to step it as you run around getting things done....

Oh Gosh! Your lilac is stunning! Ours aren't out yet - almost - but not quite.

Go out and get some sour cherries. They come in a jar and aren't sour at all - but they cure gout!! Surprising! At least they really really help to take away the pain.

MOB - yes it has been an exhausting week.

aims - thanks for the tip, I tried to find them, where would you suggest I look, they weren't in my regular grocery store?

Hi SITH, wondered if I could ask you a favour, you being in real estate and all. What sort of house improvements really add value to a property and which are best avoided?

Here in the UK every other programme is about property renovation, buying to let or making a profit. Some of the stuff they do costs mega-bucks, but I'd be really interested to know what really is worth spending on.... in your experience that is.

I am intrigued by this sort of stuff.

You are very busy but I'm glad you found time to put in photos. I LOVE lilac and everything looks lovely!

SM - it is considered that kitchens and bathrooms sell properties, so if you are planning of spending some money those are the rooms to concentrate on. It doesn't have to be mega bucks, new countertops, more modern handles, nice flooring, neutral colours - make the impression that the house is keeping up with the times and prospective buyers don't feel they have to spend a lot to upgrade. Hope this helps - never worry about asking, it's my passion too - as you might have guessed.

Maggie - yes I managed a fairly lazy day out with GWE today, checking out the wedding venue. It is down in the Niagara region so very lush, my lilac smells as good as it looks.

Too busy. I hate that. I'm exhausted just reading it. And the pics of your garden are just beautiful. Lovely. Really lovely.

Hey Softy, great photo`s...sounds like you`ve been a busy girl?!

And you know what? If your `lady`is dissapearing into overgrown shrubbery - well there are salons that will take care of that for you. A little wax and all will once again be revealed..... ;-)

Thanks for the advice, am planning a little face-lift of the domestic kind.

You certainly are busy. Great photos of your garden. I have a statue too, and I am really pleased with myself, at the moment, because it was a bit dirty and I scrubbed it clean, over the weekend! What a difference!
