Of course none of this compares with the devastation and tragedy we have all witnessed on the news from Australia. That doesn't bear thinking about and my heart goes out to all those affected by the dreadful fires. Nature is a very powerful, awesome thing in all its shapes and forms.
I have to get dressed soon and head outside to walk the dog. I loathe this transition in the weather every year. Everywhere is muddy and grey, and everyone, especially the dog, treads it into the house. The seasons in this part of Canada are not really to my taste, too cold to do much during the winter, a very nice but far too short spring and autumn, and too hot summers.
Well I think that is enough of that for today. Have a good one everyone, no matter the weather :)

We have long periods of gray, wet, cold weather in the springtime and in the fall. The weather is miserable and it makes you long for a hot summer's day. I'm not sure if I would trade them for your intense winters and summers though. I think that might be overdoing it a little bit.
I don't like intense heat or cold. My ideal would be to be around 70F (20C ) all the year round. Perfection!
Jeeze I know how you feel. I'm really cheesed off with the snow here and there is more to come to the midlands tonight. It was fun an beautiful for one week, now it;s utterly boring and dangerous as the snow turns to ice. I do like the winter though as I tend to overheat in summer. Hope that horrid slush washes away soon.
Ah! I remember that quite well! Nothing like southern Ontario weather.
We've had horrible rain after the snow and now there are floods, in places. Some of the fields could be mistaken for lakes and I don't think that we have ever seen the water so high, in the 22 years that we have lived in this area.
Thinking about Australia, however, I wouldn't like to live in a country that's suffered a 10 year drought, as they have. Rain is miserable, but I love the green scenery in the UK.
Twill soon be spring :)

You're right Toastie, the last few days have given us sunshine and nice mild days teasing us that spring is on it's way - i.e. just above zero - you get to appreciate the small pleasures here, believe me - but apparently snow is on the way again on Wednesday!!
The world has seen some crazy, extreme weather lately. My thoughts too are with those in Australia and with people in France who were flooded in the winds - one couple (our friends) had to get into their boat to row away from their house (they're in a mill). So much of their stuff was damaged.
Hope you survived the dog walk! I has been sunny here (but cold) the last few days, but today is is grey and drizzling again - *sigh*.
