The Common Cold

We have had a visitor at our house this weekend and it was most unwelcome.  First of all my 16 yr old left school early feeling unwell and lay about on the couch requesting hot lemon drinks and small helpings of food at regular intervals while I tried to keep a safe distance!

Apparently once it is in your house and on your couch there is no safe distance and come the weekend I was starting to feel the symptoms, even though we both regularly take Echinacea, we were both still felled by this germ.  It never ceases to amaze me how unwell it can make you feel.  It went straight to my sinuses giving me a terrific headache.

I spent the entire day on Sunday on the couch, after a very feverish night's sleep, in my dressing down under the duvet feeling very sorry for myself.  I couldn't even be bothered to knit, that's how lethargic I felt.  So as son was on the road to recovery it was his turn to play nurse and pander to my every whim.

However it is now Monday morning and I am feeling a lot better, and will struggle into work like a good soldier.

Hope you both feel lots better soon. some people are felled by this bug and stay down a long time. Maybe you got lucky and got the short version. The abbreviated one.

Don't be brave, stay at home, you are probably still infectious! Oh, okay, pass it on!

Hope you are feeling better.

You know SITH - I have been suffering with this since I returned from New Orleans. That's over a month of feeling like crap. The headache - the dizziness - the nausea. Ugh.....

I'm wishing it would just go away - and thinking that maybe I should go see the doctor? Hmmm...

btw - I always vote not to listen to the news. It's too depressing. They are making us believe that we can't spend any money etc. etc. Look around - there are people doing just that!

Oh! my word verification is - hypness

How appropriate!

Irene - it seems to be the short version as I feel a lot better today.

MOB and Maggie - LOL yes I thought I would spread the joy :) No really I felt I should be shouting " unclean, unclean " as I walked around the office!

aims - yes that doesn't sound good, I wouldn't be able to stand a month of this.

I feel your pain, literally. I just came back from the doctor's with a prescription for antibiotics because nothing I've done in the last week has shifted it. Good luck. Feel better. Wrap up warm.
