What a lovely bunch you are

It's amazing what a little whining can do!! :)  Thank you all for taking the time to leave me a note. I have been consciously making the effort to comment more over the last few days and I have realised what my stumbling block is - I want my comment to be witty!! but now realise from what we have all said that that is not the point, just a note to say you where there, you took the time to stop by, to click on my blog that is sufficient. I will no longer hover over the comment box waiting for the right witticism I'll just go for it.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts behind commenting, it is intriguing...I must agree with a lot of the points made, there is just not enough time in the day to comment everywhere, but I mean it sincerely when I say, if you have posted I will get around to reading it, usually on a daily basis. This could account for why I don't post as regularly as I used to - too busy visiting. I have really loved becoming part of the blogging community and really feel I have got to know a lot of you very well. Even planning to meet up with Debra as Us in France some time in the future.

BTW welcome back Carolyn - I hope you find some time to blog again this year, I love to hear about life in your corner of the world.

I am repeating myself here as I did make this comment in response to all of yours but just in case you are not obsessive like me and don't re-visit to see if there is a response to your comment... ha ha .....getting to know all my little obsessions now.

Oh I am first!
Nice to know that you have been visiting, even if you haven't commented! Lovely when you do though!
As you say, it would be impossible to leave a comment on everyone's blog, but every now & then it is good to know who visits!
As for witty comments... well that is all well & good. However the majority of us don't or can't leave this type of response regularly.
I think the answer really is to be yourself!

Sometimes it's just nice to know that you are connecting with your readers out there, I think. I mean - sometimes I feel I am just writing out into the ether with no idea if anyone (other than family) is actually reading/enjoying.

It's so nice just to have contact and is also good to give the person whose post you commented on a jolt and remind them of how much they loved your blog (that would be yours) and make them add it to their blogroll so that they don't forget to pop back again!!!!

god, hope that made sense! Thanks for dropping by LTRD x

Lots of lovely comments again thank you both, Maggie, Debra

MOB are you quoting The Goons or is that another acronym (hehe I nearly said anachronism - freudian slip) :) I cannot keep up.

Jinksy - welcome I will pop over and see what you are all about soon.

Alice - thanks for leaving me a little note, good luck in your new adventure. Note to self, add Alice to google reader!! :)

there are a lovely bunch of people out there in blogland isn't there?

I find the whole posting thing confusing, as what I think will be a post that attracts comments, turns out to be a dud, then what I think will not be a popular post turns out to be really popular.

Thursday's post is on the weather, so lets see how popular that is!!!

Here's another comment :) sorry to hear you are freezing over there, hope you are coming down to see us when in France ??

Gill - with weather like ours it is hard NOT to talk about it - hahaha :)

Sally - thanks for dropping by - I would love to get down to your part of France one day but while we are renovating such luxuries (i.e. side trips) are not on the agenda, too much to do - this next time we have promised ourselves a few days in Paris (i.e. not in the hotel at Roissy!) but actual Paris! When we do eventually live in France, of course it will just be a hop skip and jump down to the Languedoc :)

I went back to read the comments on your last post and they warmed the cockles of my heart. You have some great people visiting your site. (Oops and so do I, of course!)

It's really interesting to read about other people's opinions, re comments and stuff. I don't care whether anyone's comment is witty, or not, but it is interesting to know who's visiting. It feels more friendly, too, if someone comments.

Anyway, must go. I'm supposed to be doing something much more important, you know. ;0)

Thanks for coming to my blog. I am north of Los Angeles in the Mojave desert. No way near as nice as the San Diego area. Thanks again for stopping by.
